These Terms & Conditions govern all purchases made through the After Eden Vintage website (the "Website"). By placing an order, you agree to be bound by these terms.
1. Our Products
We sell pre-owned, vintage, and secondhand luxury designer handbags and accessories. As all items are secondhand and often one-of-a-kind:
• Each item is sold in the condition described and photographed on its listing, with wear, marks, and flaws disclosed to the best of our ability.
• Colours may vary slightly depending on your screen.
• Every item is authenticated by our in-house team prior to listing — see our Authenticity Guarantee.
• Because stock is one-of-a-kind, availability is not guaranteed until order confirmation.
2. Prices & Delivery
All prices displayed on the Website are in EUR and include applicable Dutch/EU VAT.
Delivery is included in the listed price for orders shipped within the European Union.
For orders shipped outside the EU, a delivery fee is calculated at checkout based on destination and is shown before you complete payment.
For orders outside the EU, the recipient is also responsible for any customs duties or import taxes levied by the destination country. See our Shipping & Customs Policy.
3. Placing an Order
A contract is formed once we confirm your order by email. We reserve the right to refuse or cancel an order — for example in cases of a pricing error, suspected fraud, or if a one-of-a-kind item sells out before confirmation.
4. Payment
We accept all payment methods available through our Shopify checkout. Payment is taken in full at the time of order. We do not store your full payment card details.
5. Right of Withdrawal (14-Day Cooling - Off Period)
If you are a consumer based in the EU or UK, you have a legal right to withdraw from your purchase within 14 calendar days of receiving your item, without giving a reason. This right cannot be excluded and applies regardless of any other policy on this page.
5.1 How to withdraw
• Notify us in writing at hello@aftereden.com within 14 days of delivery, stating your order number.
• Return the item to us within 14 days of that notification.
5.2 Condition of returned items
The item must be returned unworn, unused, and in the exact condition it was delivered, with:
• All original brand tags and labels attached
• Our tamper-evident authentication tag intact and unremoved
• Original dust bag, box, and any authenticity documentation included
• No odours, marks, or signs of wear that were not present on delivery
Under EU consumer law, we are entitled to deduct an amount from your refund reflecting any diminished value caused by handling of the goods beyond what is necessary to establish their nature and characteristics — i.e. more than you would reasonably do in a shop. Wearing, carrying, or using an item is considered handling beyond this threshold. If our tamper-evident tag has been removed or an item shows signs of wear, we will assess the diminished value and may deduct this from your refund, or decline the return where the item can no longer be resold as new-to-us secondhand stock.
5.3 Return shipping
Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer, unless the item is faulty or not as described. We recommend a tracked, insured service — we are not responsible for items lost or damaged in transit back to us.
5.4 Refunds
Once we receive and inspect the returned item, we will issue a refund to your original payment method within 14 days, less any deduction described in 5.2 and less original delivery cost where applicable.
6. Final Sale Beyond 14 Days
Outside the mandatory 14-day withdrawal period described in Section 5, all sales are final. We do not offer exchanges, store credit, or goodwill returns beyond this window. We encourage customers to review listing photos, measurements, and condition notes carefully, and to contact us with any questions before purchasing.
7. Authenticity Guarantee
If an item is found not to be authentic upon inspection by a recognised authentication authority, this exclusion does not apply — please contact us immediately at hello@aftereden.com and refer to our full Authenticity Guarantee for the process.
8. Shipping & Customs
We ship worldwide, subject to the restrictions below and any destination our courier is unable to service due to international sanctions.
We do not ship exotic skins or fur products to destinations where import or sale is restricted. Where an item falls into this category, eligible shipping destinations will be confirmed at checkout or prior to purchase, as permit requirements and restrictions vary by country and by species and are subject to change.
Orders outside the EU are shipped DDU/DAP — the recipient pays any customs duties or import taxes on delivery. See our full Shipping & Customs Policy for estimated timelines.
9. Liability
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for matters which cannot be limited or excluded under Dutch or EU law. Subject to this, our liability for any claim relating to your order is limited to the price paid for the relevant item.
10. Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of the Netherlands. Any disputes will be submitted to the competent Dutch courts, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protection rights in your country of residence.
